Calic Moon - RISING
The Intersection

Words and music by Shirley Ladd

Have you ever felt the confusion of being at a crossroad and not knowing in which direction to go? This is about the paradoxes in life.

Stop..Go…I don’t know. Should I stay or should I go?
Come over here…no, stay right there. I don’t think they even care
Standing big in your little square
Horns are blowing everywhere

Chorus:
Standing in the intersection
Left me here with no direction
No time for self reflection
‘Cause I don’t think I’ll pass inspection.

Look east, look west all around backward..forward…up and down
No one smiles, only frowns… inside out and upside down
They can’t see me standing there
Sirens screaming everywhere

Chorus

Hit the gas…give me a brake.. you don’t think you make mistakes
Do you have the right to be so wrong? You fit right in but you don’t belong
Feel so big, act so small
You lose your balance then you fall

Chorus:
Standing in the intersection
Left me here with no direction
No time for self reflection
‘Cause I don’t think I’ll pass inspection
State the answer don’t ask the question.
I’ve been undercoated and still don’t have protection.
Do you think we should stop and ask directions?
Confusion reigns in the intersection.
